One Step at a Time

So glad I did Dance Marathon

It was so much fun. Yes, it was difficult. Yes, I am exhausted. Yes, there were periods where I wanted to quit more than anything. But it was so worth it.

The first 13 hours weren’t too bad. I still had energy and I had fun dancing. My feet hurt but I could reduce the pain by dancing and I friends who were there moraling or presenting that I could visit.

Then the drunks came to morale and that was fun.

Once it was 4 or 5 though, I hit a wall. I was so tired and I was discouraged by the thought that I still had 9 hours left. I started to fantasize about sitting on different surfaces. I dozed off while I was peeing. I stared into space a lot.

But then I started to get excited again. I forced myself to get into the music. Around 10 they had a presentation from the founder of the camp and it honestly moved me. To see the kids that we were helping, and to realize what they go through and it made it all worth it.

The last hour was sooo much fun, everyone was just singing loudly and counting down.

I am tempted to do it again next year :)
